How we choose

Vinopolis points you towards a style of wine and explains why. We'd rather you understood a direction than memorised a bottle.

Directions, not scores

We don't award points. A direction describes a style, where it comes from and why it suits the food or moment, with examples to look for on a label at different prices.

Which producers we feature

Producers appear because their wines show a place or a style well. Small family estates are welcome, but size is not a rule here: fit to the direction comes first.

What money can't buy

Producers and shops cannot pay to be featured, to change a direction, or to change what we write. When we earn from a link, we label it where you decide. Any sponsored feature is clearly marked and kept apart from our directions.

How our pages are written

Some pages start as drafts written with the help of AI. A person reviews and edits every one before it appears. Prices and availability are only shown when dated and sourced.
